About Department
Welcome to the Department of Geography at Jamshedpur Women’s University. Geography Department is the important
Department of our University in social science stream. It is established in the year Intermediate Level 1978-80.
The department has well established and equipped Geography lab with sufficient instruments, models, maps and charts.
There is full strength and noticeable attendance of the students with outstanding results per every year. Students
participate in the form of Departmental Association Activity, General knowledge & intelligence test and map reading
under the guidance of faculty members department. The department organizes Geographical Study Tour / Local Area Survey/
Dumpy level Survey/ One Day Excursion/ Community Development Block Level Survey/ Tourism base Survey for the Students.
Goals and Objective
- To imbibe the interest among the students about geographical areas.
- To introduce the local & global geographical environments.
- To aware the students and the society about environment threats.
